Sustainability is a priority for The Lego Group. The company has a goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and to reduce its absolute carbon emissions by 37% by 2032, compared to a 2019 baseline — a target it previously told ESG Dive it was on track to meet.
Lego has made a slate of investments in recent years to cut its carbon footprint and work toward its sustainability goals, which also include targets to reduce waste and water usage and eliminate single-use plastic from all its products. The company has backed carbon removal projects, mandated supply chain emission-reduction targets and even linked employee compensation to decarbonization goals in a bid to accelerate progress toward its sustainability objectives.
